Understand the measurement
DXA, often called DEXA, uses low-dose X-rays to estimate bone density and, in some settings, body composition. Different scans answer different questions. Ask what a provider is measuring and why it is relevant to you.
Avoid reading a snapshot as a story
Hydration, equipment, and testing conditions can influence comparisons. Results deserve context from a qualified clinician. More testing is not automatically better information.
Consider the evidence, your own context, and guidance from a qualified healthcare professional before changing a health routine.
