Capacity for the life you want

VO₂ max describes the maximum rate at which your body can use oxygen during intense exercise. It reflects several systems working together, rather than one isolated muscle or organ. In everyday terms, aerobic fitness helps support the things we want to keep doing: climbing, hiking, playing, and moving through the world.

A number needs context

A watch estimate and a supervised laboratory test are different measurements. Protocol, device, and personal circumstances affect the result. Treat a number as a conversation starter, not a verdict on your health.

Make it social

Find a form of movement you enjoy and people who help you return to it. A walk, run, or ride together is a practical place to begin. Discuss exercise intensity and testing with a qualified professional when appropriate.
